Wastewater Treatment

Viridia helps Wastewater Treatment Authorities save money on maintenance costs, while protecting public health by helping prevent sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs).

According to the EPA, more than 25% of all SSOs are caused by grease buildup. Currently, grease trap pumpers transport trap grease from restaurants to landfills, which can be hundreds of miles away. Even worse, some haulers are avoiding the expense of disposal by simply dumping the trap grease into the sewer system.

Viridia gives waste management companies, restaurants and food processing centers a less expensive, easier option for disposing of trap grease – each scalable Viridia FOG Extraction Facility has the capacity to capture 100,000 gallons of trap grease per day.

Viridia’s solution helps prevent sewage backups – decreasing maintenance costs, reducing downtime and pump station failures.

The closed-loop process minimizes odors and solid waste byproducts. The wastewater passed on to the treatment facility does not significantly increase overall wastewater volume.
